Mrs Christine Uzomma Ohamobi was born on the 3rd of June 1963 in Victoria (Limbe), Cameroon into the family of Sir Pius Nwachukwu Chukwu and Ezinne Lucy Chukwu of Umuezegwu Ihitte origin in Imo State.
Born into a loving family, “Lulu” as fondly called by her late parents is the first child of six children. From her formative years, she always embodied the keen spirit of exploration, curiosity and eagerness to expand her knowledge and push herself to new heights.
She started her elementary education in 1968 and graduated in 1974 from the Catholic Mission Nursery & Primary School in Victoria, Cameroon. She then obtained her West African School Certificate Examination (WASC) from the prestigious Saker Baptist College in Limbe, Cameroon where she graduated with Grade I Distinction in 1980.

In 1980, she gained admission into the University of Lagos, to study Computer Science and graduated in 1984 with a BSc in Computer Science. In 1984, she was posted to Ibadan Polytechnic for her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) which she completed in 1985. In the same year, she was admitted to the University of Ibadan where she obtained a Master’s Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS). Due to her academic prowess and outstanding research contribution to the Department of Computer Science, she was recommended for the position of a Master of Philosophy candidate at the University of Ibadan which she completed in 1986.
Christine kicked off her professional career as a Programmer in 1986 with a top-notch Information Technology firm, Tara Systems Limited, a subsidiary of Akintola Williams & Co. In the same year, she met her late husband, Dr. Sylvester Ikechukwu Ohamobi who hails from Umuadobihi, Ihiala origin of Anambra State. At the time, he worked as a GIS/Remote Sensing Consultant and held a Doctoral candidacy at the University of Twente, Enschede Netherlands. After a blissful courtship, she had her traditional marriage in September 1989 and eventually tied the knot on the 13th of January 1990 at St. Peters Catholic Church, Enschede Netherlands.

Her professional life from 1990 – 1997 included positions as a Systems Analyst at Utopics Computers Ltd, Hengelo, Netherlands and an Information Analyst at Price Waterhouse Coopers, Nigeria where she quickly gained a reputation for her expertise, work ethic, and dedication to her clients. She also became a Microsoft Certified Professional and a proactive member of the Computer Association of Nigeria. As a reputable force in the Information Systems sector, Christine in 1997 launched a Systems Technology firm, Silmobis Computers Ltd which was jointly owned with her husband and functioned as the Software Director. She pioneered the company into becoming a Hewlett Packard (HP) preferred Partner amongst other notable local and international partnerships.
Christine being a multifaceted woman ventured into Integrated Security Solutions. In 2005, she joined the Security Technology Group (STG) with head office in South Africa and branches in six countries (Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana, Botswana and Namibia). She is the Director of the Nigeran branch and the only female on the Board of Trustees at STG.

Besides her professional pursuits, Christine a God-fearing and avid believer in Christ has actively participated and contributed immensely to the Christian body. Due to her notable contributions, she has received numerous awards and accolades over the years, including a Merit award of “Ezi Ada Nwere Ugwu” (Illustrious Daughter with Prestige and Integrity) in 2008 and being ordained as a Deaconess by the presiding Bishop of TREM – Dr Mike Okonkwo in 2009. Her passion for social responsibility caused her to launch a Foundation – Education of a Girl Child in 2012 at her late Father, Sir Pius’ Chukwu’s 10th memorial service at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Nkumato Ihitte. With this notable gesture, she received another Merit award as “Odu Ko Na Mba” (Rare Gem) from the Christian Women Fellowship.
When Christine isn’t working or volunteering her services, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, travelling to new places, and exploring her many other interests. Her thirty-one years of marriage with the late Dr Ikechukwu Ohamobi is blessed with four lovely children, Ifeanyichukwu Ikechukwu Ohamobi (B.Sc. & M.Sc. Internet Computing and Network Security graduate from Loughborough University UK), Onyinyechi Chinonso Ohamobi (B.Sc Biochemistry, M.Sc. and PhD in Energy and Environmental Engineering from Glasgow Caledonian Univerity, UK ), Chidera Chisom Ohamobi (B.Sc. Accounting, M.Sc. in Financial Analysis and Fund Management from University of Exeter, UK) and Uchechukwu Tobechukwu Ohamobi (B.Sc. Accounting, M.Sc. Information Technology with Business Intelligence from Robert Gordon University, UK).

As Christine Uzomma Ohamobi enters the sixth floor, we know that there are more adventures, accomplishments and challenges to come.
