It was yet another show of elegance and style at the 2022 Calabar Fashion Week with the theme: “The Fashion Migration”. Having successfully placed the Calabar Fashion Week on the Nigerian Fashion calendar, which takes place every first Friday and Saturday in the month of November right after the Lagos fashion week.
Knowing Cross River State is peculiar and known for its tourism destinations, hence the organizers of the Calabar Fashion Week came up with a theme that will attract more tourist, Fashion designers, Fashion icons, Fashion lovers and celebrities from all over the world to the state.
This year’s event had the President of the Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN) in the person of Mr Kola Kuddus as the Chief Host of this the event. The President, of FADAN
Who was glad to be the chief host of the 2022 Calabar Fashion Week , stated that one of the goal of his administration is to grow the Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria FADAN and to also grow the Fashion industry at large. Making it easy and accessible for designers in the state to join the association.
Eric Anderson, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Development Cross River State was the patron of the event. The Commissioner thanked everyone most especially the fashion community for their support for the Calabar Fashion Week brand. He also appreciated the organizers for using the event as a medium to promote the state tourism to the rest of the world.
Some of the Designers who showcased at this year’s event includes: MFCSTLYLES, EL PASSION, EKO’S STITCHES, HOUSE OF LAVENDA, DBRAND PEOPLE, OBIOMA TREND, and KIM’S CLOSET, just to mention a few.
The organizers invites the global fashion community, young creatives, the business World to join the Fashion Migration to the paradise city Calabar next year for the Calabar Fashion Week 2023.
