The launch of Project Yigba, described as the first non-violent line of defense, will take place on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
The onsite and online event would feature seasoned speakers like Pastor Ladi Thompson, a security expert, Mr Yemi Akisanya, attorney, conflict mediator and dispute resolver. and Bridget and Tunde Elesin, aka TeamElesin.

The event will also feature drama, poetry recital, presentations and deliberations.
According to the convener, Pastor Ladi Thompson: “Project YIGBA seeks to provide Nigerians with a Non-Violent alternative to the incendiary narratives bedevilling the nation. We believe that Nigeria’s component tribal groups can strengthen their common ideals and progress their common interests, peaceably and without changing their core identity.”

Describing the project as “an emergency response to an emergency situation,” he stated: “Project YIGBA will present a step-by-step national peacebuilding strategy. This strategy will quieten the present gongs and drum beats of strife and war.”

YIGBA, he further says, “Seeks to portray the love, beauty and strength housed in the best of Africa’s cultural nations.”
Thompson further avers that the initiative, while seeking to entrench equitable co-existence for the “cultural nations of Southern Nigeria,” will eventually benefit the entire country.
