The recently held Arise Fashion Week 2020 was outstanding for many reasons. The virtual event was the first time its organisers awarded monetary prizes to participating designers.
The event themed, “30 Under-30” had young brands on the runway. Kenneth Ize, Nigerian designer, who stole the show with his handwoven textiles and vibrant colours was rewarded with the winner’s prize of $100,000 cash, while first runner-up, Re’Lagos, received $75,000 and South African designer, Mmuso Maxwell, got $50,000.
